The beginners guide to Uploading.
The beginners guide to Uploading & presenting your warez.
I have noticed that many people have had trouble with the logistics on how to upload files and then post them on bulletin boards.
So I have decided to write this guide for W-BB members to aid them in uploading warez and in turn contribute to this community.
Table of contents:
- Chapter One: The necessary files
- Chapter Two: Preparing the files
- Chapter Three: Uploading your files
- Chapter Four: Making/uploading screenshots.
Chapter One : Necessary files
WinRAR: 32bit
http://www.rarsoft.com/rar/wrar39b1.exe
WinRAR: 64bithttp://www.rarsoft.com/rar/winrar-x64-39b1.exe
Firefoxhttp://www.mozilla.com/firefox/
Chapter Two : Preparing the files
• Select the file you want to upload
• Next right click the file and select "add to archive"
• Click on achieve name and re-name it to your liking.
• (Optional) Click on the advanced tab and choose the "set password" option.
• Click general tab again and select Zip100 from the "split in volumes" drop down menu.
• Next click on the comments tab, here you will be able to type messages you want members who download your files to see. After you have typed your comments, press OK this will initiate the zipping process. Compression times vary depending on your CPU as well as the size of the file.
Chapter Three : Uploading your files
• Now it is time to upload your file to a file host, for this example I will be using Rapidshare. You can use any file host you wish such as Netload, Megashare and Megaupload. Typically the more hosts you have uploaded your file to the more downloaders you will get but I will only be using RS for this. Goto the Rapidshare website, click "browse" and then navigate to your file and then press okay after that you will notice an "upload" button appear click that and you will begin uploading your warez to the file host.
• When your upload has completed you will be re-directed to a new page with the RS download link, this is the link you will re-distribute to WBB for members to download. You might also notice the create collectors account option, if you do not have one already, I strongly advise you to create one. Having a collectors account allows you to collect rapidshare points every time someone downloads your file, these points can then be used to redeem a free 30-day premium account.
Chapter four : Making / Uploading screenshots
• Now that you have uploaded your file you have to show other members that it actually works, this not absolutely necessary but it will allow you to attract more downloaders if you have screenshots. To do this, simply install the program run it and then press "print screen" on your keyboard showing the working program. After this, open up paint and begin cropping the picture using the "select" tool, copying it and then pasting it to a new page. Then click save AS and upload your image to a file host, I prefer the image host tinypic.
• Copy and paste the "IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards" this link is specifically for forums and will allow your image to be displayed in your topic
End product
Congratulations, you have just posted your first upload.
